Discussion (Week 3)
1. Enumerate the 5 philosophies that we can learn from the ants? After each philosophy, explain in 1 sentence what you can do to apply the specific philosophy in your life.
A. Ants have no commander.
- In life, we should always believe in ourselves that we can do a specific task because some people tend to think that things will work only with guidance/help from other people around us.
B. Ants plan ahead.
- It is really important to think of the future as no one can ensure what goes for them.
C. Ants stay positive always.
- Problems will always be there, no people have no problems at all and what I should be thinking is that I can finish every obstacle my life will give me.
D. Ants never quit, they only change their approach.
- Losing is never an option, everyone wants to win/succeed in life and when things go wrong, we should not stop, instead, we should find another way on how we can finish the task and reach our goal.
E. Ants always do their best.
- We always need to give our best to avoid regrets at the end and when we know that we did our best, every hard work will be priceless.
2. What are the lessons/realizations that you have learned from the ants? What will you do to apply those in your life especially during this time of pandemic?
- Personally, staying positive was the most impactful for me. With the pandemic, everything seemed wrong, everything was dark. What I learned from ants is to always stay positive despite the challenges. These obstacles are not forever. What I must do is to go with the flow, do what is right, and avoid what is wrong. We people should understand that despite the darkness problems bring to our lives, we should always learn how to find/build our own torch which will give us light, the light that will help us see the reality that nothing is impossible in life.
