Discussion (Week 3)

1. What do you like more - reading 21st Century Literature (Manga) or watching its video counterpart (anime) like Naruto, Sailormoon, and others? Why?

        - Reading is not my hobby so I find watching videos (anime) more interesting. With videos, I can imagine the situations/scenes more than reading pieces like manga. I also like the action/motion/animation that anime has. The sound effects also give that certain feeling as if I'm in that video. To simplify things up, I like anime more than manga because I don't like reading a lot.

2. In the example 3D ANIMATION of Sailormoon, the old version of the anime (2D) was shown on 3:19 onwards. What can you say about the difference in the 2D and 3D versions in terms of quality? Did the 3D version appeal to you more? Why?

        - 3D versions are more detailed and have a wider view for the watchers. I can say that the imagery is also better and the animation is sharper. 3D appeals to me more than 2D because I like it being modern and new which gives us an "upgrade".  Also, nowadays, most animes are in 3D which I'm getting used to. 2D is also good but for me, 3D is better.

3. If you were given the opportunity to write 21st Century literature, what type/genre will it be and why?

        - I would love to create a fiction work like a short story. Seeing and reading short stories make me think of my childhood. When I was young, I often read short stories with big illustrations especially when I'm with my mom at her school. Back then, when I was still like 6 - 7 years old, my mom teaches Grades 1 and 2 in a far village/baryo and they have a mini library with all the books for the kids. When I'm bored, I'll go there and have a look at the stories. With that, my childhood was amazing and I want to make more stories for future generations as well so they can have an amazing childhood that they will forever cherish.
